Basics of Kidcot at Epcot

Let’s start with the basics…

What is Kidcot at Epcot?

Kidcot is a “fun discovery experience collecting activity cards at each country throughout World Showcase!” Basically, you:

  1. Visit a Kidcot station at any country to get a Ziploc “suitcase”

  2. Go to each country and collect Kidcot cards

The cards usually come with a sticker, and the Cast Member may write or draw something on them as well. Each card has some brief information about the country, and at each station you’ll find coloring utensils for coloring in the backside of the card.

Here’s a look at the front and back of the card from Mexico, for example:

Finally, there’s also an additional aspect of Kidcot inside the Play Disney app (this is different than the regular My Disney Experience app). The Play Disney Kidcot game will take you on a brief tour of each pavilion, including pointing you to its Kidcot station (note: these locations are sometimes out of date, which is what prompted us to make this post in the first place).

Here are some screenshots from the game:

Is Kidcot free?

Kidcot is free, including the suitcase ziploc bag and the individual cards from each country.

Can adults do the Kidcot fun stops?

Sure! If you’re feeling bashful, you can always tell them you’re collecting them for your niece or something.

How long do Kidcot stations take?

You could spend as little as a few seconds at the Kidcot station just grabbing the card and sticker before being on your way. If you’d like to talk more about the country, the Cast Member can usually provide a few minutes of conversation. Even on occasions where we found stations staffed by people who weren’t from the specific country, they were still able to provide a few fun facts.

You can also take as much time as you’d like to color in your card if you’d like.

What time do the Kidcot stations open and close?

The Kidcot station hours are actually posted on the Disney World website, though you might encounter some variance. Sometimes we’ve stumbled upon a closed station where the cards / stickers were left out.

Do you get anything for finishing Kidcot?

Yes! When you collect your last card, tell the Cast Member who gives it to you that it’s your last one and you’ll also get a special completion card.

Is there an Epcot Passport?

Yes! The Epcot passport has finally returned. While not strictly part of the “Kidcot” experience, this is a nice way to add a little bit of fun to the World Showcase experience.

Where are the Kidcot Fun Stops at Epcot?

I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that we’ve had a few Kidcot tours stymied by our inability to immediately find the stations. On a recent relaxing trip we finally decided to set out and visit all the Kidcot stops, and we did! We’ll take you through them one by one, starting with Mexico and going clockwise around the World Showcase.

Where is the Mexico Kidcot Fun Stop?

The Mexico Kidcot station is located inside the giant pyramid. Entering the pyramid you’ll encounter stairs on the left and right. The Kidcot station is usually on the lower floor along the left set of stairs.

Where is the Norway Kidcot Fun Stop?

The Norway Kidcot Fun Stop is located in the main set of stores in the pavilion. You’ll walk through these exiting the Frozen Ever After ride, or the entrance is right to the left when you’re facing the Frozen Ever After entrance, past Kringla bakery.

Where is the China Kidcot Fun Stop?

This is one that has challenged us in the past, and we’ve been told several locations. At various points it was located inside the main store in the pavilion or at the back exit to the pavilion theatre. Most recently, we found it at the entrance to the theatre—inside the gigantic pagoda.

Where is the Germany Kidcot Fun Stop?

Facing the Germany pavilion, there’s two sets of stores. On the left are the Karamell-Küche sweets shop and a few other stores. On the right are Das Kaufhaus and Volkskunst. The Germany Kidcot Fun Stop is located in the right set of shops.

Where is the Italy Kidcot Fun Stop?

Entering the Italy pavilion, you’ll see the recreation of St Mark's Campanile (bell tower) on your left. Walk into the pavilion, and the Kidcot station is to the right, inside the pavilion, just behind the stores on the right. You can see it from the center of the pavilion:

Where is the USA Kidcot Fun Stop?

The Kidcot Fun Stop in the American Adventure pavilion is located outside, to the right of the main theater building and further to the right of Art of Disney (the shop to the right of the theater).

Where is the Japan Kidcot Fun Stop?

Entering the Japan pavilion you’ll have the giant pagoda on your left. If you walk all the way straight up the heart of the pavilion you’ll eventually cross a small bridge and find the Kidcot Fun Stop just to your right outside the store entrance.

Where is the Morocco Kidcot Fun Stop?

At the heart of the Morocco pavilion is a fountain, and behind the fountain is a beautiful gate. Before you get to the gate, to the left, is the Kidcot station.

Where is the France Kidcot Fun Stop?

The France pavilion is a bit challenging to navigate. Since Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure debuted, you can basically take three routes entering the pavilion. To the right is Remy’s (and the creperie); in the middle is the theater for Impressions de France and Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along; to the left is Les Halles.

To get to the Kidcot station, you want to go to the left, toward Les Halles. The entrance looks like this:

If there’s a line for the bakery you can ignore it and go into the store. The Kidcot Fun Stop is to the right, inside the store.

Where is the United Kingdom Kidcot Fun Stop?

The bulk of the UK pavilion is opposite the Rose & Crown bar and restaurant. Heading into the pavilion on the stone path there are shops along the left and right. The Kidcot Fun Stop is located in the righthand set of shops, all the way back, in “The Toy Soldier.”

Where is the Canada Kidcot Fun Stop?

The Canada Pavilion is pretty large and labrynthian, and Disney has hidden the Fun Stop in a pretty remote location. Simply, the station is at the exit to Canada Far and Wide (the theater show). To find it without going to the show, notice that the pavilion can basically be split into two parts—the buildings on the left and the gardens on the right:

The Kidcot station is at the back of the gardens. Here’s what the entrance looks like from a short distance:
