Disney World Dole Whip FAQ

Let’s start with some basics about Dole Whip.

What is Dole Whip?

Dole Whip (pictured above) is soft serve (aka soft serve ice cream) produced by Dole Food Company, most famous in the US for their fruit production.

Typically, “Dole Whip” refers specifically to Pineapple Dole Whip, but other flavors are available. Throughout this post, we’re focused primarily on Pineapple Dole Whip, but the section at the end closes with a discussion of other flavors.

How Much does Dole Whip Cost at Disney World?

Dole Whip cups start at $6.17 (includes tax), but alcoholic versions of the treat can get in excess of $13.

Can You Purchase Dole Whip With A Disney Dining Plan?

Most non-alcoholic Dole Whip treats count as snacks under the Disney Dining Plan. Obviously some more complex options or versions with novelty cups may not qualify.

Is Dole Whip Vegan?

Yes, fruit-flavored Dole Whip is vegan. This includes the orange, lime, and pineapple versions. Here’s a link to the Dole product information page.

Three important things to remember, though. First, vanilla soft serve—even produced by Dole—is not vegan. Second, non-Dole Whip soft serve may not be vegan. Some menus specify “pineapple soft serve” without saying “Dole,” which indicates to me these may not be vegan.

Third, things that you may pair vegan Dole Whip with—like cakes or sprinkles or whatever seasonal treat is available—may not be vegan.

Is Dole Whip Gluten Free?

Yes, fruit-flavored Dole Whip is gluten free. I’m unable to find information about whether Disney World’s vanilla soft serves are gluten free. Here’s a link to the Dole product information page.

Can you get Dole Whip with Alcohol?

As far as I can tell, every location that sells Dole Whip except in the Magic Kingdom sells an alcoholic version. Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom does not sell an alcoholic version.

Can you eat Dole Whip in the Enchanted Tiki Room?

Disneyland guests have long enjoyed the right to eat their Dole Whip inside the Enchanted Tiki Room. And while I haven’t tried it recently at Walt Disney World, recent reports are that guests are again allowed to eat inside the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Where Is Dole Whip Sold In Disney World?

As of publication, pineapple Dole Whip is consistently sold in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, at Disney Springs, and at a few other places around Walt Disney World. You might find it in some locations seasonally, as well. We’ll keep the comments open for anyone looking to help this page stay current!

Let’s cover the major locations serving pineapple Dole Whip, before talking about other flavors below. We’ll start with theme parks.

Where can you get Dole Whip in Magic Kingdom?

Dole Whip is sold at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom. Aloha Isle is located next to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland. Aloha Isle is capable of using mobile order, but will sometimes have that option disabled, so you’ll have to go and order it right there.

You can usually get either a Dole Whip Cup or a Pineapple Float (Dole Whip + Pineapple Juice), along with seasonal or specialty items, like pineapple upside down cake, raspberry float, or Dole Whip in a souvenir tiki bowl.

Where can you get Dole Whip in Epcot?

Dole Whip was previously served at Refreshment Port in Epcot. Refreshment Port is located next to the Canada Pavilion, not on the United Kingdom side. I have not seen Dole Whip at Refreshment Port recently, though. This is hopefully temporary.

Dole Whip is occasionally available from festival booths at Epcot. For example, the Pineapple Promenade booth at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival usually serves Dole Whip.

Where can you get Dole Whip in Animal Kingdom?

Dole Whip is sold at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom. Tamu Tamu Refreshments is located across from Dawa Bar and Tusker Hour in the Africa land of the park. It’s on the way from the park entrance to Kilimanjaro Safaris.

You can usually get either a Dole Whip Cup or a Pineapple Dole Whip Float (Dole Whip + Pineapple Juice). You can also add dark or coconut rum to these items.

Where can you get Dole Whip in Hollywood Studios?

Hollywood Studios does not currently serve Dole Whip. The nearest Dole Whip products are served about 15 minutes away by foot at BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas (discussed below).

Where can you get Dole Whip at Disney Springs?

Dole Whip is served out of the nondescript “Marketplace Snacks” booth at Disney Springs. Marketplace Snacks is opposite Marketplace Co-Op, near Ghirardelli, the Marketplace Stage, and Dockside Margaritas.

You can usually get either a Dole Whip Cup or a Pineapple Float (Dole Whip + Pineapple Juice), with an option to add rum to the float. Specialty items, like “Dole Whip Nachos” are also occasionally available.

Wine Bar George and The Basket at Wine Bar George also have alcoholic Dole Whip beverages on their menus.

Where can you get Dole Whip at Polynesian Village Resort?

Dole Whip is served at the Pineapple Lanai window at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Dole Whip, the Pineapple Float, and Dole Whip + Rum are available.

There is also an option for a “Spikey Pineapple” at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace which is pineapple soft serve (unclear if it Dole Whip or vegan) is blended with rum. The Barefoot Pool Bar also often serves a similar beverage.

Where can you get Dole Whip On the Boardwalk?

BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas, a stand on the Boardwalk (between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, near Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, and Yacht Club) serves a Dole Whip smoothie and a Dole Whip smoothie with rum (“Captain’s Seaside Sensation”).

Can’t you get Dole Whip at…?

Maybe. Disney World menus are constantly evolving. Basically any spot with a soft serve machine could theoretically serve Dole Whip on short notice. And just as it arrives, it may disappear.

Some places that have been known to serve Dole Whip or beverages made with Dole Whip are:

At my last visit to All Star Movies, the cafeteria also was serving Pineapple Soft Serve (I didn’t confirm whether or not it was Dole Whip).

Where Can I Get Other Flavors of Dole Whip?

Even more so than pineapple Dole Whip, other flavors of Dole Whip can come and go from menus. Nonetheless, here’s a list of places that usually have different flavors of Dole Whip. Check their menus for specific current listings.

Aloha Isle, the main spot for pineapple Dole Whip in Magic Kingdom, usually has vanilla and occasionally has other flavors, like raspberry. As a reminder, vanilla Dole Whip is not vegan and I have not been able to confirm that it is gluten free.

Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom usually has some special flavors, like lime, strawberry, or “blue”, usually as part of more complicated sundae / cone items. Storybook Treats is located near Princess Fairytale Hall and Friar’s Nook, behind the castle, opposite the carrousel.

Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom has orange Dole Whip and occasionally others flavors, too. Sunshine Tree Terrace is on the righthand side of the path into Adventureland from the hub, opposite Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
