We're fans of the Disney Chase Visa credit card, especially its perks. While we don't quite rank it as the best card for Disney vacations, when it comes to perks, the Disney Visa perks are as good as a Disney fan will find.

The Disney Visa cards offered by Chase can be great cards if you know where to find their value. Every Disney fan should at least consider adding this card to their wallet, as the savings it offers can really add up, especially if you're into Disney dining and merchandise. Here are the top Disney Visa perks that we think you need to know about.

1. 10% Off Dining at Select Disney Restaurants

You can use your Disney Visa to get 10% off your meals at select Disney restaurants (with a few date limitations). Best of all, there are some good ones on the “select” list, including Narcoossee's, Jiko, Biergarten, Le Cellier, and more.

Like the tour and merchandise discounts, this Disney Visa perk is nice because it is simple and immediate value from your card. That’s money in the bank for every more Disney!

2. Special Character Meet and Greets

With the special Disney Visa greetings, you can get short queues for premium characters. There are typically two of these meet and greets at each of Disney World and Disneyland, with both resorts usually having a Star Wars offering and a standard offering.

For many families, especially those operating on a tighter budget, the Disney Visa perks that come as straight discounts won't matter as much. We love this perk because it's something everyone can get value out of, regardless of how much they're spending!

3. 15% Off Select Guided Tours

We actually didn't know about this perk when we booked our first tours! The Chase and Disney websites aren’t in perfect accord about which tours are covered, so you'll want to call to check.

But it seems like you'd be able to get 15% off some of the best tours — like Keys to the Kingdom. For a family of four, that would be about $60 in savings just for a single tour!

4. Six-Month 0% Financing on Disney Vacations

You’ll want to be very careful about how you use this perk, but it’s undeniable that having six months to pay off Disney vacations without interest is a potentially awesome perk, especially when your other cards might be charging interest rates over 20%! Why do you have to be very careful? — Because the terms and conditions are very specific in what is covered.

For instance, they specifically refer only to select “Disney vacation packages,” so theoretically a non-package hotel stay could be excluded (indeed, we've had single nights at Walt Disney World resorts that were not covered by the 0% interest policy). Once you have the card, you'll be able to check your statement to track your 0% purchases.

Also keep in mind that while 0% financing can be a good way to keep money in the bank/market earning a return, if you need the 0% interest to pay for your vacation, it might not be the best time for you to take this trip.

5. 10% Off Select Disney Merchandise ($50+)

The list of exclusions is a bit long, but if you’re a Disney fanatic and spending lots on merchandise, 10% off can save you big over the course of a year.

6. Access to VIP Packages on Broadway

When most of us think of Disney performances, we think of what goes on inside the parks, but some of Disney's best performances are actually on Broadway! An underrated Disney Visa perk is access to VIP packages at these shows. Unfortunately, this perk isn't applicable to all ticket prices, so you have to spend a bit more to use it.

7. Access to the Disney Rewards Program

While not strictly a perk, we don't want you to leave this article without knowing that the Disney Visa cards earn you points as part of the Disney Rewards Program. Disney Rewards Dollars can be spent at most U.S. Disney locations, including the theme parks.

You can also often early referral bonuses if friends/family sign up for this card using your referral link. Since the card has no annual fee and some solid perks, it might be a great fit for them too.

8. Awesome Card Designs

I mean…c’mon…

And a Variety of Other Offerings

One of the nice things about the Chase Disney Visa is that Disney continually introduces new perks. You’ll see special cardholder-only room and package discounts (typically only 5% more than the current discount offerings, or just early access to an upcoming deal). You’ll also see occasionally see exclusive events (though those are becoming rare). You can find a full listing of the perks over at the Disney Rewards website.

Compare These Perks to The Annual Pass Perks

Many of these perks—particularly the discounts—are similar to what Disney World annual passholders get with their passes (compare also Disneyland Annual Pass perks). But the perks are definitely not identical.

Annual passholders get a wider range of discounts—with more restaurants, merchandise, and ticketed events being covered. Conversely, Disney Visa cardholders have access to the special character greetings that even passholders don’t have access to.

If you have an annual pass, then you won’t find much monetary value in the card, but the special character greetings alone are going to be enough to justify a $0 annual fee card for some people.
