Reminder: Ticketed Events Bring Extended Evening Hour Shifts

As we head into the last part of the year, the nighttime schedules at the parks start to see some variance. Extended Evening Hours in particular starts to jump around more this time of year. Here’s what we’re seeing for that deluxe-exclusive perk as the late 2026 schedule starts to be unveiled…

Extended Evening Hours Basics

As a reminder, Extended Evenings Hours is a complimentary perk available only to guests of Disney’s deluxe resorts (and select partner resorts). With this perk, guests of those resorts have exclusive access to a select park, on select nights, for (usually) 2 hours after the park closes.

Extended Evening Hours Scheduling Shift

The typical schedule has Extended Evening Hours two nights each week—at EPCOT on Mondays and at Magic Kingdom on Wednesdays. While this schedule is always subject to change, and does for various reasons, we can pretty much always expect changes late in the year.

Beginning August 7, Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on select nights through October. It follows this up with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on select nights in November and December. This typically means Magic Kingdom will host Extended Evening Hours less in August through December, with Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom picking up the slack.

Indeed, that’s what we’re seeing now, as the following notable Extended Evening Hours are now on the calendar:

  • August 26 — Animal Kingdom

  • September 2 — Animal Kingdom

  • September 16 — Hollywood Studios

This is sort of a bad news / good news situation. It has to be said that Animal Kingdom is not great for Extended Evening Hours, offering only four attractions: Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Na'vi River Journey, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! On the “plus” side, Extended Evening Hours at Animal Kingdom is usually from something like 6PM to 8PM, which basically means the perk enables you to experience most of the park in a single late afternoon and evening.

But the addition of Hollywood Studios to the calendar is a definite win for deluxe guests. That park offers every one of its stellar rides except Rise of the Resistance. That’s not a huge deal—just get in line before the park closes. Now, this “win” might be short-lived—Hollywood Studios itself hosts Jollywood Nights on select nights in November, December, and January.

Finally, it’s also nice to see that Magic Kingdom still has some Extended Evening Hours on the calendar in August and September. Magic Kingdom is easily the park that’s best for Extended Evening Hours, with a huge ride lineup that’s very tough to fit into a single day.

Bottom Line

As the calendar continues to roll out, guests of deluxe resorts will want to make sure they keep an eye on the specific schedule for Extended Evening Hours late in the year. And if you want to have exclusive, late-night access to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, remember that the ticketed events are also an option.
