Magic Carpets of Aladdin Basics
Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a ride at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The ride
does not offer rider switch
is a Tier 2 ride on Lightning Lane Multi Pass
does not have a single rider line
is NOT part of Early Entry at Magic Kingdom
is about 90 seconds long
If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom with small children, Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a good option because it has no height requirement. You can get sprayed with water, which might be scary for some kids.
Where is Magic Carpets of Aladdin located?
Magic Carpets of Aladdin is located in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.
Entering the park, you’ll head to the hub and take a left, crossing the bridge into Adventureland. Heading straight, you can’t miss Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
How to Ride Magic Carpets of Aladdin
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a low-priority, tier 2 Lightning Lane at Magic Kingdom. If you’ve got a strategy that has you on the west side of the park (Frontierland, Adventureland, Liberty Square) early, then riding it with a short standby wait or a Lightning Lane makes sense. But if there’s any wait and rides in Fantasyland are still posting 5-minute waits, I’d probably head over to Dumbo-Barnstormer-Mad Tea Party-Under the Sea rather than wait at all for Magic Carpets.
It’s not a ride to overplan for, and in no case would I head over to this part of the park solely to check off this box. Try and pair it with Pirates of the Caribbean or Jungle Cruise. If you get later in the day, you might pair it with a visit to Enchanted Tiki Room or Country Bear Musical Jamboree—both are nearby.
A Magic Carpet Ride…
Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a typical aerial carrousel. It offers pretty nice views of the surrounding area with the castle in the background.
Theoretically, the front row controls up and down (vertical) movement while the back row controls pitch (front/back tilt). I’ve felt pretty confident several times in the back row that the scarab controlling pitching was non-functional on my carpet.
Magic Carpets of Aladdin can be a fun ride during the fireworks. I’d rather actually watch the firework show, but Zoe prefers to watch from…quite a distance.
You can get spit on by the camel on the ride, so go all the way up if you wish to avoid that.
You can watch a video of the ride here:
Magic Carpets of Aladdin FAQ
Do the camels spit on Magic Carpets of Aladdin?
Yes. There is one camel that spits on guests in the walkway of the park, and there is a second that spits on guests on the ride. To avoid getting spit on by the one on the ride, move your carpet to the highest setting.
