We were recently spending a few nights at Grand Floridian as part of a visit to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and had a chance to check out the famed Gingerbread House. Let’s look at some pictures and answer some popular questions along the way…

When does the gingerbread house go up at Grand Floridian?

In 2023, construction on the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House began on October 31 and the house opened on November 8.

Can anyone go see the gingerbread house at Grand Floridian?

Yes! The only caveat is that you have to get to Grand Floridian, and you can’t just show up in your car and say you want to see the gingerbread house. To park at Grand Floridian, you either need to be a guest of the hotel or have a reservation at one of its restaurants.

Alternatively, if you have other reasons to be on Disney property, you can get to the hotel via Disney transportation from all four parks and from Disney Springs (Disney Springs, by the way, has free parking).

What’s the easiest way to see the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House?

The easiest way to see the gingerbread house at Grand Floridian is to visit it as part of a day spent at Magic Kingdom during the holiday season. Leave Magic Kingdom, and you can either take:

  • the 15-minute walking path to Grand Floridian

  • a 5-minute resort boat ride to Grand Floridian

  • the monorail three stops to Grand Floridian
